The purpose of this study was to examine how geography teachers implement GIS in the class room and examine how they interpret GIS, their attitude towards the implement of it in the curriculum for secondary schools and if it is beneficial to geopgraphy and students learning. Seven interviews were conducted individually, six geography teachers and the person who wrote the curriculum for geography in secondary school. The study revelas that the variation of the teachers education in GIS affect the way they educate their students in GIS. The teachers who were educated in GIS recently are using the tool to teach their students geographical subjects, while the others were often teaching their students about the tool, because they felt that there...
