Two studies investigated cognitive primes designed to evoke images of secure adult attachment, compared with primes designed to elicit positive affect unrelated to attachment. The primes were used previously in studies of Israeli undergraduates' perceptions of outgroup members (Mikulincer & Shaver, 2001).
