This chapter examines some of the issues in human resources required for progress towards environmental and social sustainability. Human resources are an essential component of promoting sustainability in general and environmental sustainability in particular. Human resources are more than people. In this chapter it refers to individuals, groups and the relationships between individuals and groups. It includes the systems of practices used to manage and lead within businesses and to build relationships between organizations and external stakeholders
