This article presents a personal retrospect of the author on phonology. It is assumed that phonological systems in a language will have varying domains of operation. If domain is defined systematically, then it is found organized in a rank scale found in a grammar with its clauses, phrases, groups and words. It is also assumed that the locus of the phonetic reflexes, or realizations of the phonological systems may be varied and indeterminate.11 page(s
