Life stories are valuable resources in occupational therapy because they are personal interpretations of people's occupational participation throughout their life course. Life stories can be used as data in occupation-based research to understand the form, function and meaning of occupation at different stages of a person's life. As occupational therapy aims to enable people to participate in meaningful occupation, understandings gained from life-story analysis can be incorporated into the knowledge base of occupational therapy, to advance practice.6 page(s
