Satre hopes to present his consciousness in his story of consciousness. He hopes to give a logical and metaphysical resolution of the enigmas about oneself, one’s experience and its ‘objects’, but in these logical bones there must exist an emotional marrow suitable to sustain our understanding of why people have been so attracted to the classical trilogy of materialism, idealism and dualism, and even more importantly, to nourish the detailed fresh of what we experience and what it is like to experience. To understand Satre on consciousness is to know the kinds of ‘grasp’ of things which we develop in being conscious of them.11 page(s
