Previous articles in this series have examined Brogden's fall, attributable in large part to the re-shaping of the party under Clarke (AQ July-August 2005); the development of factions within the party over the last two decades (AQ September-October 2005); and the reorganization of the party's central organs since 2005, where Clarke's influence has again been manifest (AQ May-June 2006).
