Reusing learning designs created by successful teachers is a means of sharing innovation and exemplary lessons whilst at the same time conserving resources. It would seem beneficial, therefore, to encourage and promote this practice. This paper provides two examples, Web Quests and Web Dilemma, to illustrate how generic learning designs can be used to share and reuse good teaching practice. Generic learning designs provide a scaffold that could introduce innovative teaching strategies to lecturers without requiring them to become experts in learning design or theory. It is hoped that these tools will introduce educators to the learning design process so that they might develop their own effective and pedagogically sound learning activities ...
