Economic globalisation and the international trade : prospects of Bangladesh

Economic globalisation has been cataclysmic for many LDCs, which endure economic and political dislocations due to their lack of national economic strengths and international clout necessary to secure any tangible gain. This chapter argues that the main forces impelling free-market restructuring in LDCs have been the external extra-market pressures. This restructuring is of neglible benefit to these countries due to the lack of consistency between the doctrinal framework of economic liberalisation and its actual policy content when implemented.
