My research has shown that socio-cognitive self-regulation plays a significant role in decision-making by entrepreneurs. In particular, it suggests that self-regulation is related to the effective use of intuition, heuristics, and the limitation of bias in decision-making. At the same time, educational research has shown that self-regulatory skills are critical for achieving learning outcomes. I explored some of the same self-regulatory skills in my research on entrepreneurial decision-making. In particular, I studied the role of metacognition, self-efficacy, and regulatory focus.
