Background: In Pakistan, the prevalence of Type 2 diabetes is high ranging from 7.6 % (5.2 million populations) to 11 % as compared to the prevalence rate of 8.3% in the world. The high prevalence of type 2 diabetes in the country has been attributed to high-risk factors such as lack of physical activity, unhealthy food and eating habits among the Pakistani population.
