Att undervisa i informationssökning : En kvalitativ studie om hur skolbibliotekarier undervisar i informationssökning

One of the goals in the curriculum is that the students in junior high schools must know how to seek information and how to do critical evaluations. Therefore is the aim of this bachelor thesis to examine how the school librarian work with teaching in information seeking in junior high schools. The theoretical framework that has been used is based on Limberg & Folkssons project IDOL ́s five categories. The data has collected through qualitative interviews with three school librarians in three different junior high schools in Sweden. The results shows that school librarians teach information seeking by talk about source criticism, sources, information queries, the importance of verifying information and to teach different search tips. The lessons usally was based on a basic presentation about information seeking and source criticism. The school librarian was even a part of bigger school project to teach information seeking and to support the students when they seek information. The conclusions is that this is helpful to know because the schools mission is to learn the students to be reflecting individuals. It is important that school librarians and teachers work together in this process and to contribute with each unique expertice in teaching information seeking. It is also important to support and welcome the students to the library when they need more help with information seeking.
