Models of teaching speaking in the advanced level at mentor college Semarang (a descriptive study at mentor college (international marine hotel training and practical english conversation course) in academic year of 2010/2011)

The problem of this research can be stated as follows: 1. What models of teaching have been used in teaching speaking in the advanced level at Mentor College Semarang? 2. How are the models implemented in teaching speaking in the advanced level at Mentor College Semarang? The purpose of the research is to describe the implementation of models of teaching speaking in the advanced level. This research is a descriptive qualitative, where the writer wrote this research based on classroom observations in advanced level class at Mentor College. The data analysis of this study is completed using qualitative, through by observing classroom, interviewing the teacher, and collecting lesson plan of teaching speaking. On the results of this study, the writer can conclude that the way of teaching speaking English properly is supported by the development of students' skills in speaking English well and properly. Model which is used at the Mentor College is model of role play, because role play is the most appropriate model to implementation English language spoken material directly. At Mentor College Semarang in addition students will also be easy to remember the vocabulary in these conversations because they directly experience or practice it while in the classroom
