The purpose of this review was to analyze the factors affecting the implementation of emergency projects by volunteers in humanitarian organizations. The paper sought to find out how training, volunteer retention, working conditions, community participation and monitoring affect the implementation of emergency projects by volunteers in humanitarian organizations. The significance of the study is that it provides a useful guide to humanitarian organizations with regard to how they can overcome the challenges they face when dealing with volunteers.
