The Western Region Drug and Alcohol Task Force (WRDATF) is a co-ordinating body, providing a multi-agency and regionally appropriate response to substance misuse in the western region (Galway, Mayo and Roscommon). Its overall aim is to significantly reduce the harm caused to individuals and society by the misuse of drugs and drugs through a concerted focus on supply reduction, prevention, treatment, rehabilitation and research. Key objectives include the development of an integrated and well managed response to drug and alcohol problems, propose a range of solutions and service interventions based on the five pillars of the National Drugs Strategy 2009 – 2016 (interim) and ensure that all responses are monitored and evaluated according to b...
