The problem of the research is : How is the students ability in reading report text about tourism brochure at SMPN 1 Martapura. \ud The Subjects of the research they are ninth grades’ students at SMPN 1 Martapura South Kalimantan with the total number of 30 students. The object of the research are essay test with 10 number and 15 point from questionnaire.\ud To collect the data, the researcher uses the techniques of test, questionnaire, and documentary. Then all of the data that have been collected are processed using quantitative method. \ud The result of the research shows that the ninth grade students’ ability in reading at SMPN 1 Martapura is very good in finding main idea and analyzing topics of paragraph in report text about tourism brochure. Actually, It can be seen from their result test
