Pd.\ud \ud This study describes the correlation between learning vocabulary achievement by using pictures and students’ motivation in learning English at seventh grade of SMPN 1 Kalumpang Kandangan academic year 2012/2013. The problems in this research are: How is the students’ achievement in learning vocabulary by using pictures at seventh grade of SMPN 1 Kalumpang Kandangan academic year 2012/2013? How is the students’ motivation in learning English at seventh grade of SMPN 1 Kalumpang Kandangan academic year 2012/2013? Is there any correlation between learning vocabulary achievement by using pictures and students’ motivation in learning English at seventh grade of SMPN 1 Kalumpang Kandangan academic year 2012/2013?\ud Based on the statement of problems above, this study is supposed to better understand the correlation between learning vocabulary achievement by using pictures and students’ motivation in learning English at seventh grade of SMPN 1 Kalumpang Kandangan academic year 2012/2013.\ud The subjects in this research are 38 students at seventh grade of SMPN 1 Kalumpang Kandangan academic year 2012/2013. The object of this research is the correlation between learning vocabulary achievement by using pictures and students’ motivation in learning English at seventh grade of SMPN 1 Kalumpang Kandangan academic year 2012/2013.\ud The techniques in data collection used: observation, test, questionnaire, interview and documentary. Data processing in this research is divided into five stages, they are editing, coding, scoring, tabulating and interpreting. Then all data analyzed quantitatively and descriptively and use inductive method to make conclusion.\ud The result of this research states that the students’ learning vocabulary achievement by using pictures in excellent category. There are 36 students (94.74%) in excellent category, 1 student (2.63%) who get the score 70 -< 80 in good category, 1 student (2.63%) who get the score 60 -< 70 in fair category, and no one in low and poor category. \ud Based on the result of each question from questionnaire, it can be seen that the students’ motivation in learning English in level 81% - 100%. It can be concluded that the students’ motivation in learning English in higher category.\ud \ud There is correlation between learning vocabulary achievement by using pictures and students’ motivation in learning English at seventh grade of SMPN 1 Kalumpang Kandangan academic year 2012/2013. From the results of the calculation by using student “r” product moment formula is gained the result = 0.474. After consulting with ttable (tt) in the significance standard level 1% and 5%, it can be concluded that the hypothesis alternative which stated there is correlation between learning vocabulary achievement by using pictures and students’ motivation in learning English at seventh grade of SMPN 1 Kalumpang Kandangan academic year 2012/2013 can be accepted
