Mutações germinativas no gene APC (Polipose adenomatosa coli) são responsáveis pela ocorrência de polipose adenomatosa familiar (PAF). Mutações somáticas levam à transformação maligna de adenomas. O objetivo desse trabalho foi identificar mutações germinativas no gene APC. No presente estudo, 20 pacientes com PAF foram estudados. A determinação das mutações germinativas no APC foi realizada por meio de sequenciamento, e as mutações foram comparadas com marcadores clínicos (sexo, idade no momento do diagnóstico, tabagismo, estádio TNM, classificação Coller-Astler e o grau de diferenciação do adenocarcinoma).
