Oligoryzomys é o gênero mais especioso da tribo Oryzomyini e está amplamente distribuído na região Neotropical. O objetivo deste trabalho é contribuir para a citotaxonomia e investigar a evolução cromossômica no gênero. Foram analisados 117 exemplares pertencentes às espécies: O. flavescens (2n=64-66, NF=66), O. fornesi (2n=62, NF=64), O. microtis (2n=64, NF=64), O. moojeni (2n=70, NF=72), O. nigripes (2n=62, NF=78-82), O. stramineus (2n=52, NF=68) e Oligoryzomys sp.
