Gerenciamento da tecnologia da informação para tomada de decisão em supermercados

This article focus on the use of information technology as a support tool in the decision making process by mangers/owners of supermarkets in Aracaju. The objectives of this study are to analyse the use of computers, the level of commercial automation, the characteristics of the information generated but the system, the information flux and the evaluation/perception of this process by the managers/owners. It was seen that despite theuse of information technology is fundamental for the decision making process this technology do not represent yet, in the majority of the supermarkets of the study, as trategic or a differential competitive tool. KEYWORDS: Management information systems; Information technology; RetailO presente artigo focaliza a utilização da tecnologia da informação como ferramenta de apoio à tomada de decisão pelo gerente/pro-prietário dos supermercados de Aracaju. Os objetivos do estudo são: analisar o estágio de informatização dos supermercados, o nível de automação comercial, as características da informação gerada pelo sistema de informação, o fluxo das informações e a avaliação/percepção desse processo pelos gerentes. Foi verificado que, apesar do uso da tecnologia da informação ser um instrumento básico para o apoio aos dirigentes no processo de tomada de decisão, essa tecnologia não representa ainda, na maioria dos estabelecimentos pesquisados, um instrumento estratégico e de diferencial competitivo
