O processo político-partidário brasileiro e as eleições de 2006

The goal of this article is to analyze the evolution of the current Brazilian political party system. For these purposes, we look at the aspects of the 2006 elections that the most critical analysts and observers of the functioning and development of the party system have contrasted to earlier electoral disputes, through a perspective that allows the identification of important changes - whether in the degree of electoral participation or in the format and development of the parliamentary party system resulting from electoral competition.
