Este trabalho discorre sobre as transformações que houve na profissão de Relações Públicas no Brasil, a partir das mudanças tecnológicas. Para tanto, foi desenvolvido um levantamento histórico da profissão desde seu início em 1914, na The São Paulo Tramway Light and Power Co. (atual Eletropaulo) até a chegada da Internet. Dentro desse contexto foram observadas as seguintes características: as tecnologias utilizadas ao longo dos anos, o perfil profissional que se exigia no mercado, formação acadêmica, regulamentação da profissão e as influências das mudanças tecnológicas com o passar do tempo.
