As rotas sintéticas não aquosas que visam obter nanopartículas de óxidos metálicos são uma alternativa valiosa para o conhecido processo sol-gel, oferecendo vantagens como alta cristalinidade a baixas temperaturas, além de possibilitar o controle do crescimento dos cristais sem a adição de surfactantes. No presente trabalho a síntese de óxidos metálicos tais como SnO2, ZrO2, In2O3:Sn (ITO) e SnO2:Sb (ATO) é apresentado por um método de síntese isento de surfactantes, e dentro de alguns sistemas reacionais utilizados como haletos metálico álcool benzílico, alcóxidos metálico álcool benzílico e acetilacetonatos metálicos álcool benzílico que mostram a versatilidade deste método de síntese.
