Necessidade e Possibilidade – esboços sobre Estética

This article poses the following question: Is art knowledge? It is certain that Music is hermeneutic. Sounds have semantic character. As a linguistic system, Music does not function in a concrete, but in an associative manner. Through its communicative component, Music is also a sociological phenomenon. We can accept that there is a relationship between ethic and aesthetic values, which leads to the question: What kind of information does Music transmit? And further: Could the preference for dissonances in contemporary music be explained or justified?A arte é um saber? Esta questão conduz o presente artigo. É certo que a Música é hermenêutica. Sons têm caráter semântico. Como sistema lingüístico, a Música não funciona concretamente, mas associativamente. Através do componente comunicativo, a Música é também um fenômeno sociológico. Pode-se dizer que há uma relação entre valores éticos e estéticos. Daí se deriva a questão sobre quais informações nos transmite a música; e indo mais adiante, se o sobrepeso de dissonâncias na música contemporânea se justifica de alguma forma
