INFORMAÇÃO E MUDANÇA SOCIAL NA DÉCADA DE 90: uma perspectiva européia

This paper begins with an exploratios of the meaning of social change and the role of community development. I shall then discuss a key aspect of the context of information,work - the information technology (IT) context. In the last section of the paper i want to look at three significant issues to do with information and social change. firstly, the notion of "information cabability" as an essential but hitherto overlooked ingredient in the relationship between IT and people; secondly, the question of how we value information; and thirdly, the concept of partnership and the kinds of information workers who will be needed in the context that it implies.Este estudo se inicia com uma investigação sobre o significado e papel de mudança social no desenvolvimento da comunidade, em seguida discutirei o aspecto chave do trabalho da informacão: o contexto da tecnologia da informação (T.I). Por último pretendo avalizar três relevantes temas relacionados com informacão e mudanca social: 1. a noção de "capacidade da informação", como um ingrediente essencial mas, até o presente momento despercebido na relação entre tecnologia de informação e os indivíduos. 2. a questão de como valorizamos a informação. 3. o conceito de cooperação e que tipos de agentes de informação serão necessários nesta configuração
