Public Health : organization and representation of information under a perspective of the keywords in articles from scientific journals and their authors' academic training

A partir da diversidade de temas que compõe o campo da Saúde Coletiva, esta pesquisa tem como objetivo investigar como se dá a representação do conteúdo informacional do Campo no âmbito dos artigos de seus periódicos científicos. Apresenta alguns conceitos da Ciência da Informação, bem como alguns pontos relevantes que marcaram a sua origem. Enfatiza a importância da organização e representação da informação, principalmente com relação à atribuição de palavras-chave em artigos de periódicos científicos. Aborda o periódico científico como recurso significativo da comunicação científica e, por conseguinte, de sua valiosa contribuição no registro, organização e divulgação de conhecimentos científicos. Traz breve exposição a respeito do campo Saúde Coletiva, evidenciando alguns de seus conceitos. Trata-se de uma pesquisa documental, de abordagem qualitativa, na qual foram analisados os artigos originais e de revisão de 06 (seis) periódicos temáticos, disponibilizados em texto completo na SciELO Brasil e indexados na base Scopus. As palavras-chave foram coletadas dos artigos publicados no triênio 2010-2012, e posteriormente utilizou-se a categoria Saúde Pública do DeCS como parâmetro para identificar os assuntos correspondentes ao campo da Saúde Coletiva, e também com o intuito de padronizar os termos e assim facilitar a análise. Dessa forma, dos 2.376 artigos que apresentaram termos conforme os parâmetros expostos, foi possível identificar 692 assuntos, dos quais constatou-se que os 10 mais recorrentes (Atenção Primária à Saúde, Adolescente, Saúde Pública, Estudos Transversais, Estratégia Saúde da Família, Sistema Único de Saúde, Saúde Bucal, Fatores de Risco, Fatores Socioeconômicos e Criança, nesta ordem) correspondem a 20% da recorrência geral e representam, portanto, os temas de maior interesse dos estudiosos. Ademais, verificou-se a formação acadêmica do primeiro autor dos referidos artigos por meio do currículo cadastrado da Plataforma Lattes, possibilitando identificar quais são as áreas internas e externas à Saúde que mais publicaram no campo da Saúde Coletiva. Constatou-se que os autores são oriundos de 53 cursos de graduação, correspondentes a 09 (nove) áreas da Tabela das Áreas do Conhecimento do CNPq. A maioria dos autores provém da área de Saúde, como Medicina, Enfermagem, Nutrição e Odontologia. Nas outras áreas, embora em um número bem menor de artigos, destacaram-se a Psicologia e Biologia Geral (Ciências Biológicas), História (Ciências Humanas), Serviço Social (Ciências Sociais Aplicadas), Probabilidade e Estatística (Ciências Exatas e da Terra) e Interdisciplinar (Multidisciplinar). As áreas de Ciências Agrárias, Engenharias, e Linguística, Letras e Artes foram identificadas na autoria dos artigos, porém não se destacaram.Dessa forma, ficou evidente que há profissionais de todas as áreas do conhecimento contribuindo para a consolidação do campo da Saúde Coletiva.Considering the diversity of themes which compose the Public Health field, the research aims at investigating how the representation to the informational content of this Area happens in articles from scientific journals. It presents some concepts from the Information Science, as well as some relevant points that marked its origins. It emphasizes the importance of organizing and representing information, mainly with regards to the attribution of keywords for articles in scientific journals. It approaches the scientific journal as a significant resource to the scientific communication, and consequently its valuable contribution in registering, organizing and publishing scientific knowledge. It brings a brief exposition on the Public Health field, highlighting some of its concepts. This is a piece of documentary research of qualitative approach, in which one analyzed the original and reviewing articles of 06 (six) thematic journals, available in full text at SciELO Brazil, indexed by the Scopus basis. The keywords were collected from the articles published within the triennium 2010-2012. Subsequently, the category Public Health from the Descriptors in Health Sciences (DeCS) was used as a parameter to identify the terms corresponding to the Public Health field, as well as to standardize the terms and facilitate analysis. Thus, of the 2,376 articles which presented terms according to the exposed parameters, it was possible to identify 692 themes, from which one noted that the 10 most recurring ones (i.e.: Primary Health Care, Adolescent, Public Health, Cross-Sectional Studies, Family Health Strategy, Unified Health Care System, Oral Health, Risk Factors, Socioeconomic Factors and Child, in that order) correspond to 20% of general recurrence, representing thus the themes of scholars' most interest. Furthermore, the academic training of the first author in the referred articles was verified by means of the curriculum registered in the ?Lattes? Platform, making it possible to identify which are the areas - internal and external to the field of Health - which published the most in Public Health. It was found that the authors are from 53 graduation courses, corresponding to 09 (nine) of the areas in the 'Tabela das Áreas do Conhecimento do CNPq' (Areas of Knowledge Table by CNPq). Most authors are from Health fields, such as Medicine, Nursing, Nutrition and Odontology. Although in a much lesser number in the other fields, one should highlight Psychology and General Biology (Biological Sciences), History (Humanities), Social Work (Applied Social Sciences), Probability and Statistics (Exact and Earth Sciences) and Interdisciplinary (Multidisciplinary). The areas of Agricultural Sciences, Engineering, and Linguistics, Languages and Arts were identified as authors in the articles, but they did not stand out. Therefore, it became evident that there are professionals in all areas of knowledge contributing for the consolidation of the Public Health field
