Nos passos da história: o surgimento da fotografia na civilização da imagem

In this article I present a part of my master’s degree dissertation which dealt with the path in the history of photography. The text starts by focusing the profound cleave it provoked in XIX Century iconographies. Next, it analyses the raise of the processes of photographic reproduction, e.g. images of an optical nature (of photographically automatized production). In closing it appraises the origins and transmutations witnessed in the relation artphotography. To do so it adopts the perspectives of photography thinkers such as Walter Benjamin and of researchers as Boris Kossoy, among others. It concludes that photography represented a new – and important spring in terms of multiplication and sharing of information, beyond opening new fields in the visual representations.Neste artigo, apresento uma parte da dissertação de mestrado, cujo objetivo é percorrer os passos da história da fotografia. O texto começa abordando o profundo corte que ela provocou nas iconografias do século XIX. Em seguida, analisa o surgimento dos processos de reprodução fotográfica, isto é, das imagens de natureza óptica (de produção automatizada fotograficamente). Por fim, aborda as origens e transmutações observadas na relação arte-fotografia. Para tanto, adota referenciais teóricos de pensadores da fotografia como Walter Benjamin e de pesquisadores como Boris Kossoy, entre outros. Conclui que a fotografia representou um novo – e importante – salto em termos de multiplicação e difusão da informação, além de abrir novos campos nas representações visuais
