Jornalismo popular e o sensacionalismo

This paper, while showing historically how the idea of yellow press developed in Brazil, emphasizes the fact that this type of news reaches to the sensations of the public. The work also takes into account a kind of reading protocol that exists between the public and the text – textual marks can be found in the editions. Thus, the reader receives the text according to a kind of instruction present in it. The page edition, the pictures, the breaks in the narrative, the typology used, everything points to a reader and a type of reading. These are the protocols that reach the sensations that would mark this kind of journalism we call yellow press.Procurando mostrar historicamente como se desenvolve a idéia de jornalismo sensacionalista no Brasil, o texto enfatiza o fato de esse tipo de notícia apelar às sensações do público. Considera também uma espécie de protocolo de leitura que existe entre o público e o texto, marcas textuais que se encontram nas edições. Assim, o leitor recebe o texto segundo um tipo de instrução contido nele mesmo. A disposição na página, as ilustrações, os cortes produzidos na narrativa, a tipologia empregada, a diagramação, tudo indica um leitor e uma forma de leitura. São esses protocolos que apelam às sensações que marcariam o espaço desse tipo de jornalismo que estamos chamando de sensacionalista
