Most cases of hypoglycemia in intensive care environments affects patients with diabetes. The diabetic patients are frequently hypoglycemic episodes during insulin therapy, which hinder the achievement of optimal glycemic control. Thus, the critical care nurse is responsible for maintaining tight glycemic control, achieving levels that would ensure the therapeutic benefit and with a low incidence of hypoglycemia. This study was conducted through computerized literature search in electronic databases. Given the above, this research seeks to answer the clinical question flaming: On account of high complexity, which is the effective management of hypoglycemia in the treatment of diabetes mellitus?
