Jürgen Habermas: Teoria crítica e democracia deliberativa

This paper intends to study the character and the proposals of the Critical Theory and its relation with the democratic theory of Habermas. Firstly, it analyses the critical methodology openned by Marx, its development by the first generation of the Frankfurt School and the reconstructive model of Critical Theory of Habermas. In this last one, it develops the comprehension of the ideas of rational reconstruction and communicative competence and universal pragmatics competence. Secondly, it intends to show how Habermas comprehends the project of modernity and its theoretical proposal of reestructuring this project. In this context, this paper shifts to the apprehension of some aspects of the habermasian political and legal theory. Lastly, it analyses the habermasian deliberative democracy proposal, having its foundation in a discursive ethic and in the existance of fundamental rights which guarantee discursive formation of opinion and will.O artigo objetiva estudar o caráter e as propostas da Teoria Crítica e a sua relação com a teoria democrática de Habermas. Primeiramente, é analisada a metodologia crítica aberta por Marx, o seu desenvolvimento pela primeira geração da Escola de Frankfurt e o modelo reconstrutivo de Teoria Crítica de Habermas. Nesse último, desenvolve-se a compreensão das idéias de reconstrução racional, competência comunicativa e pragmática universal da linguagem. Num segundo momento, busca-se mostrar como Habermas compreende o projeto da modernidade e a sua proposta teórica de reestruturação deste projeto. Nesse contexto, o estudo desloca-se para a apreensão de alguns aspectos da teoria política e jurídica habermasiana. Por fim, analisa-se a proposta habermasiana de democracia deliberativa, a qual tem o seu fundamento numa ética discursiva e na existência de direitos e princípios fundamentais garantidores da formação discursiva da opinião e da vontade
