Olhares sobre a identidade masculina

In the present article, we write about some of the dimensions that compose the formation of the masculine identity. Initially, we analyze the dimension of the sexuality, present above all in the rituals of demonstration of virility. Soon afterwards, we center our attention on the dimension of the desire. Although it is always related to the dimension of the sexuality, the desire, or the erotic, it cannot be reduced to the sexuality, deserving a special attention. Finally, the dimension of the violence is focused from two perspectives: the committed violence and the suffered violence for men in the construction of his masculine identity.No presente artigo, discorremos sobre algumas das dimensões que compõem a formação da identidade masculina. Inicialmente, analisamos a dimensão da sexualidade, presente sobretudo nos rituais de demonstração de virilidade. Em seguida, centramos nossa atenção sobre a dimensão do desejo. Embora sempre esteja relacionada à dimensão da sexualidade, o desejo, ou o erótico, não pode ser reduzido à sexualidade, merecendo uma atenção especial. Por fim, a dimensão da violência é enfocada desde duas perspectivas: a violência cometida e a violência sofrida por homens na construção de sua identidade masculina
