The study focused on factors affecting community participation in solid waste management in Lindi Municipal Council Tanzania. The aim was to identify the determinants and motives for the household’s willingness to pay for the improvement of solid waste management services. A stratified random sampling technique was used to select the respondents to participate in this study. Data were collected using interviews, administered questionnaires, observations and documentary reviews. A total of 135 household members participated in the study from the three Wards.
