Czech-German relationships in České Budějovice in 1914-1918 in light of german press in České Budějovice

This bachelor thesis deals with the analysis of two leading German-language newspaper based in the territory of České Budějovice in the period of the World War I, namely Budweiser Zeitung and Budweiser Zeitung Kreisblatt. The main objective of the thesis was to find out what the press paid attention to during the war period, how it was affected by this event and how it wrote about the relationship of two major cultures - if you like - about Czechs and Germans. For the thesis preparation printed matters stored in the State Regional Archives in České Budějovice have been used. The Bachelor thesis is divided into three main chapters. The first chapter focuses on describing the situation in České Budějovice, its formation, referring to associations established in the territory within a specified period, including a clarification of the political situation. The second chapter deals with the selected German written press and the third chapter deals with the very newspaper production, whereas it is further divided into individual years and it separately describes the view of Budweiser Zeitung and the view of Budweiser Kreisblatt
