Child raising in an incomplete family

This bachelor thesis concerns a topic of bringing up children in single-parent families. Theoretical part is firstly about family in general and contemporary problems connected with family. Then it is focused on single-parent family and difficulties of children upbringing in this kind of family and their impact on a child. The main goal of a practical part of this thesis is to find out and compare achieved level of education, educational and professional aspirations and professional employment of individuals originating from complete and single-parent families. The other goal is to find out whether a parent in a single-parent family could be a paragon for professional employment of his/her child. The research survey contained in the practical part used mixed research approach in compliance with the goal. A method of questioning by a half-structured dialogue was used in a qualitative survey part, and a method of questioning by a questionnaire was used in a quantitative survey part. The differences between individuals originating from complete or single-parent family were found in educational and professional aspirations and in achieved level of education.
