Criminal recidivism as a socio-pedagogical and legal issue

Abstract JUNGWIRTH, JAN. Criminal recidivism as socio-educational and legal problem. České Budějovice: Pedagogical Faculty, Bohemian university of České Budějovice, 2016, 90 pp. Bachelor thesis. The aim of this thesis is to introduce criminal recidivism, as a serious pathology and persistent problem of contemporary society integrating into the European community. The work is focused on the general and basic introduction, since work on this subject can not by itself given its scope to accommodate all aspects of the issue in depth, extent or severity of the problem, and on content and professional, would go far beyond the usual range of undergraduate work . The work is divided into theoretical, whose chapters deal with different concepts and interpretation of the term recidivist, repeat offenders typologies in terms of practice, different interpretations of the term and concept of criminal recidivism and its causes. The final two chapters are focused on the issue of prevention of criminal recidivism, their strategy of possible solutions and work with convicted offenders, capabilities and effectiveness of existing treatment programs.
