Castle Bechyně - building history and decorative elements

This thesis documents building development of the castle Bechyně. The authoress will present three main stages of this residence, both in terms of property relations and building activity. The first part describes the original colonization of this promontory during Bronze Age up to extinction of Premysl's castle in the end of 13th century. The second part describes the gothic castle, about which is not too much information, but there are four significant building - the church of St. Jiri, granary, fortification of the city and castle and the most important preserved room Tree hall. The third part talks about to the biggest reconstruction of the residence that was happening from 1580 to 1592.
