The formation of professional identity of social workers

The thesis deals with the formation of professional identity of social workers in the Czech Republic. The theoretical part defines who a social worker is, what prerequisites must a person meet and an education to get to work as a social worker. It also deals with different kinds of identity. In conclusion of the theoretical part the identity is analyzed from several psychological aspects. In the empirical part the data obtained through quantitative research are analyzed and interpreted. The questionnaire is chosen as a data collection instrument. Social workers from the Czech Republic are the respondents. The goal of research is to find out how social workers shape their individual and collective identity. Another goal is to find out what social workers think about how they are seen by the general public
