Optimalizace parametrů vozidlového motoru

The thesis deals with internal combustion engines (ICE) that are able to burn more types of fuels. The issue is being presented not only from the technical and functional solution point of view, but also with regard to its legislative, economical, ecological and safety demands. Ethanol detection methods in ethanol-gasoline blend, their advantages and disadvantages concerning the above mentioned viewpoints are being presented in this thesis. Furthermore, a new method of ethanol in fuel mixture detection, which has not been known to us before, is being introduced. This method is based on fuel mixture refraction index measurement and is described in detail in this thesis. The method was verified by experiments carried out on commercially available fuel blends in the Czech market. The experimental part of this thesis also includes the design of ICE driving algorithms using this fuel detection method. Correctness of the designed algorithms has been verified by measuring on the engine dynamometer.
