This work deals with measuring and optimization of power consumption of nodes in sensor network. It suggests and compares different methods of power saving for sensor network nodes, defines mathematical model of power consumption of node and implements it into Matlab. This work also includes a measure of power consumption of module Zigbit MNZB-900-B0. This module communicates in IEEE 802.15.4 standard. Measurement is used to verify accuracy of mathematical model. This work also presents basics of energy harvesting and development of system, which is using this method
