This bachelor's thesis deals with computational solution of stress-strain states arising in idealized geometry of artery. Based on it's structure, wall is cosidered as a laminate of fiber rein-forced composite consisting of a network of elastin as a matrix and collagen fibers as reinforcement. Emphasis is placed on respecting of collagen fibers distribution and orientation on the thickness of the wall, which has a significant impact on it's mechanical properties. The behavior of this model is simulated using finite element programme ANSYS. The thesis also includes a research study of existing hyperelastic models of the aorta
