Simulation of high-speed network traffic

The objective of presented thesis is to study the theory of the high-speed networks of the type Ethernet, ATM and SDH and the introduction to their questions. In the first part of my thesis I am involved in the theoretical analysis of the particular networks and their contemporary use. I analyze the possibilities of the optimization of the networks both in the topology level and the level of the transfer protocols. The objective of my work was the finding of appropriate software for the simulation of the high-speed networks. I compared various simulation programs and I came to the conclusion that OPNET is the most appropriate and the most known. According to the assignment of the bachelor thesis I used the program IT GURU Academic Edition of the American software company OPNET. I simulated the four connections of the networks, I optimized and compared the results of original and optimized connection. On their basis I verified theoretical knowledge and came to the conclusion
