This work deals with design and construction of the drive unit for universal tips measurement micropositioning system. Measurement system can be used for measuring parameters of structures as thick film layers and thin film layers. The parameters of substrate will be measured by measuring tips. These tips must be fixed on target position by using stepper motors with high accuracy. For movement of substrate will be used two direct-current motors. Position of this substrate is scanned in two axes by two optical CCD chips. This work contains the proposal of software for all used microcontrollers. Activity of system is controlled by certain serial bus
