ŠABATA Radek: Forming device integration into production line Due to raising need for flexible exhaust hoses made by WESTFALIA Metal s.r.o. is com-ing closer to its manufacturing limits of inner ending rings. Finding suitable layout and technological solution is needed. Inner ring is made from scroll sheet steel 17 240. Sheet is roll bended, WIG welded and formed into final shape. Problem is press PYE 160 which is used for other company needs. Replacement of this press with new machine spe-cialized for this part is solution. Thanks to its specialization it will be smaller. Two main technology variants were considered - radial expanding and thorn expanding. Radial ex-panding is not suitable for this simple ring and forming force is bigger so thorn expanding is recommended
