With the development of the computer equipment the numerical simulation has become a strong tool for the design and optimization of foundry processes. The goal of the modelling is the tuning of the casting technology in pre-manufacturing stage. Numercial simulation allows studying metal flow, solidification and casting cooling. The work will be aimed to new trends and developments in the field of numerical simulation of foundry processes
