The study deals with the development of materials currently used in the manufacture of dental implants. Special attention is paid to chemical composition, mechanical properties and biocompatibility of these materials. The aim and result of the thesis is creation of comprehensive overview of the different material groups, which are characterized by their quality and appropriateness of use. Benefit is an assessment of titanium alloys, which exhibit excellent properties both in terms of mechanical, chemical and biocompatible
