The content of this baccalaureate work is to make computational proposal and constructional design of the four-stroke diesel engine piston. At the beginning it shortly describes the piston as a part of a piston assembly, basic constructional design of pistons for diesel engines, piston material and the way of production. Further there is a proposal of basic engine dimensions and the crank mechanism. Then there is an elaborated piston dimension on the basis of empirical data. At the end of the work there is a calculation of critical piston cross-sections calculated according to given process of the indicator diagram and designed kinematics of crank mechanism
