The aim of the Bachelor's thesis was to characterized the craftbreweries and to evaluate their development in the given period. A history of brewing is brought near in the introduction of the thesis. There is also described the production of beer and the necessary raw materials for its brewing. The evaluation of the development of craftbreweries in 2005 2013 in the Czech Republic, as the period with the largest progression of their development, with a focus on the area of the South Bohemian Region is treated in more details. The recherche has shown that in 2005 were active 46 craftbreweries. In the year 2013 worked almost 200 of them. Compared to the year 2005, an increase of almost 320 % is registered.
