Individual career management

The objective of this masters thesis is to analyze in detail the stages of individual career management. As the title anticipates, this thesis is concentrated on the individual steps and not on the efforts of an organization to develop its employees. In theoretical part of this work, first the stages of individual career management are analyzed: self-awareness, identification of opportunities, decision making, setting of goals and evaluation. After this, the limits of career planning are analyzed and some of the methods from career coaching are mentioned. The empirical part consists of methodology followed by the actual research. Both quantitative methods (electronical questionnaire) as well as qualitative methods (personal interviews) are used. The focus of these methods is again on the stages of individual career management. The end of this thesis includes the summary of findings from theoretical and empirical part
