La Bartonella henselae es una bacteria con potencial zoonótico, capaz de producir la enfermedad del arañazo del gato en el humano. Es una bacteria difundida mundialmente, con diferentes seroprevalencias en los distintos países y dentro del mismo país. El objetivo de este estudio fue pesquisar anticuerpos contra esta bacteria en 80 gatos de Santiago mediante la técnica de inmunofluorescencia indirecta y asociarla a diferentes características epidemiológicas. La seropositividad encontrada fue de un 70%, no encontrándose asociaciones entre esta característica y la edad, sexo, contacto con otros gatos, positividad al virus leucemia felina, total de gatos por casa y la visita periódica al médico veterinario
