This dataset contains images and descriptions of 11.141 illuminations in 400 medieval manuscripts from the collections of the national library of the Netherlands (KB) and the Museum Meermanno. The 11.141 metadata records contain descriptions, IconClass-codes, creator and type of each illumination, as well as persistent links to images (JPG). This dataset is strongly coupled to the set Descriptions of Medieval Illuminated Manuscripts (BYVANCK), which ontains descriptions of the 400 medieval manuscripts these illuminations are found in
